Sometimes it isn't clear that the (singular) subject of a sentence is gender-specific.
Often it isn’t relevant.
For some, it has become a ‘personal pronoun preference’.
Whatever the case, there is still ‘singular and plural agreement’ to take into account. It’s a question of grammar.
