Remember 'ninjas'? Employing them is bad enough.

It can get worse. Like far too many recruiters, you might be considering advertising for a ‘rockstar’.

Go ahead if you must, but be warned.

Quite apart from needing plenty of office space for their egos, typical workplace ‘rockstars’ present a number of problems.

Think about it for a minute.

• They’ll demand favoured status, special treatment and adulation from their 'groupies'

• The hangover from the weekend will probably last until Thursday and, on Friday, the cycle will begin again

• And do you really want to deal with wrecked rooms and smashed up furniture?

Bottom line:

Explain what you really want.

Let the 'rockstars' have their 15 minutes of fame and glory somewhere else.
